CAPTRUST Experts Speak on Optimal Client Service and Mastering RFPs and Consultant Databases

On July 23 and 24, CAPTRUST’s Beryl Ball and Bruce Graham spoke at Financial Research Associates’ 4th annual conference on Optimal Client Servicing for Institutional Asset Managers and Mastering RFPs & Consultant Databases. The conference is aimed at helping institutional asset management professionals with maximizing their opportunities to win new clients and providing excellent service to current clients. At the event, plan sponsors and institutional consultants, like Ball and Graham, were on hand to explain what it takes to attract and retain clients in today’s competitive market. 

Ball participated on the first day which focused on client service for asset managers. She spoke at a roundtable pertaining to the dos and don’ts of client service. They covered topics such as the preferred mode of dialogue between investors and managers, how to work with gatekeepers, and how to tell clients when performance is poor. Ball joined CAPTRUST in 2008 as senior vice president, financial advisor and is responsible for providing retirement plan advisory services to corporate fiduciaries. She holds a Certified Retirement Services Professional (CRSP) designation.

Graham spoke the next day which focused on RFPs and consultant databases. He spoke in a spotlight where experienced professionals answered key questions about RFPs. Questions covered common RFP mistakes, the value of a well-crafted RFP, and consultants’ growing use of broad quantitative screening. Graham joined CAPTRUST in 2013 as vice president, financial advisor and is responsible for providing retirement plan advisory services to corporate fiduciaries, as well as comprehensive wealth management services to high-net-worth investors, private foundations, corporate executives, and business owners. He holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®).
